How to set up your VPN (Macs)
A VPN is a way of securely connecting to our corporate PMC network. Pritunl, is the program we use for VPN connections. These tools allow our users to access company resources such as network file shares when they are not in the PMC offices.
These instructions will help you set up your VPN the first time you need to use it.
Step-by-step guide
- To search for Pritunl (pronounced “pry tunnel” ) on your Mac
- Click on your desktop, open a new finder window, Press and hold Command (or Cmd) ⌘+ N
b. Select the Applications Folder, search for “Pritunl” software
Note: If you do not have “Pritunl” listed in your applications folder, please contact Help Desk at https://helpdesk.pmc.com and we will assist you in getting it installed.
c. Launch “Pritunl” application
The next step is to configure the Pritunl software to connect to the PMC network
2. Open a web browser (Firefox, Chrome or Safari) and go to https://vpn.corp.pmc.com
3. Log in with your AD credential to connect to PMC. This is the username and password you use to log in to your computer every day.
4. Copy your Profile URI Link in RED below.
5. Go back to the Applications folder, find the Pritunl application (a white letter “P” in a dark blue circle), and click on “Import Profile URI”
6. Paste URI that you copied above in step 4 and click Import.
7. To connect, click on the menu in the upper right and choose to connect.
8. Enter your corp.pmc.com AD network password.
NOTE: Do not connect to VPN while you are in the PMC offices. The VPN isn’t needed while you work out of the offices, as the office is already connected to the network. You will receive an error if you try to connect while in the office.
Once connected you will see that you have been assigned an IP address and it will show a counter for “Online for…” - this means you’re connected.
Note: Leave the program open - you can minimize it or hide it, but leave it running until you are done working with PMC resources.
9. You are not connected to PMC's Network
