How to set up your VPN (PC)

 A VPN is a secure connection established between the user’s private network to another network over the internet. Pritunl is the VPN application users use to connect remotely to the PMC corporate offices. This secure connection allows users to access network resources such as files on network drives.

These instructions will help you set up your VPN the first time you need to use it.

Step-by-step guide

  1. To search for Pritunl (pronounced “pry tunnel” ) on your PC
    1. Go to the Start Menu (Windows Icon on bottom left hand corner)
    2. In Search bar, type Pritunl
    3. Select and launch  “Pritunl” App

Note: if you don’t have Pritunl installed on your computer, please contact PMC help desk and we will assist in getting it installed for you. You can open a ticket at https://pmc.help


2. Open a web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer) and go to https://vpn.corp.pmc.com


3. Log in with your AD credentials to connect to PMC. This is the username and password you use to log in to your computer every day.


4. Copy your Profile URI Link (indicated in RED in the screenshot below).


5. Launch the Pritunl application  and click on “Import Profile URI


6. Paste URI that you copied above in Step 4 and click Import.


7. Once installed, the Pritunl app “P” is located on the bottom right hand corner of your screen. You can also type “Pritunl” in the search bar to locate the application. Click on the icon to launch the application.


8. To connect, click on the menu in the upper right and choose to connect.


9. Enter your corp.pmc.com AD network password.


NOTE: Do not connect to VPN while you are in the PMC offices. While you are working from inside the PMC offices, the VPN is not needed. You will receive an error if you try to connect.


10. Once connected you will see that you have been assigned an IP address. You will also see a counter showing how long you’ve been online - this means you’re connected.


11. You are now connected to PMC’s Network. Leave the application open - you can minimize it and continue with your work.
